Vallisneria: It is a grass like plants completely submerged. It has got a large base and absorbs much sediment and requires less light for growth. A spiral leafed species Vallisneria spirallis grows more slowly and has longer soft leaves. It requires a good amount of light to grow. Another decorative plant is Vallisneria torta, which has twisted leaves usually shorter than those of Vallisneria spirallis.
Ludwigia: Ludwigia mulertii needs strong lights to grow faster. The leaves are small, oval and copper color undersides.
Cabomba: Cabomba is one of the popular species and looks very beautiful when planted in aquarium. They are feathery leaved plants and do need plenty of lights for its growth. These are delicate and not suitable for tanks containing larger fish varieties especially barbs, gold fishes and Koi carps
Mazon sword plant: This is nature's special gift to all aquarists. It grows well in diffused lighted condition a moderate amount of day light is suitable for optimum growth. They are Melon sword and pigmy chain sword plants.
